Pilot Group’s Energy Management System (EMS) has reduced CO² emissions and delivered significant cost savings for Hörmann (UK), Europe’s leading door provider. After undertaking a comprehensive site survey, Pilot Group designed and developed a bespoke solution that involved replacing the current system of clocks and thermostats and installing the innovative energy management system. Pilot Group specialists concluded in their survey that Pilot Group Synchronous Burner Control would reduce fuel spend by approximately 20% by utilising residual heat in the airflow. Furthermore, the system would produce savings of at least 40% via the prevention of tampering, the introduction of nine electronic air sensors, the installation of an accurate time control feature and external air sensors to enable weather compensation.

Eliot Buckby, Facilities & Maintenance Manager at Hörmann (UK)

“We decided to use the Energy Management System as it gave us greater control and savings throughout the whole site. We also liked the concept of being able to control the system over our local network. The research and development department at Pilot Group were extremely helpful, enabling us to add our input into the system to ensure we get the best from the ongoing software updates and enhancements. The installation was professionally undertaken and non-disruptive, ensuring our operations could carry on as normal. We also took the option to extend our warranty and service cover for five years in light of the excellent service levels that we received.”

“Saving on gas consumption obviously makes an impact on the environment which is in line with our environmental policy and group energy reduction strategy worldwide, not to mention making a difference to our savings.”

Chris Pearson, Managing Director at Pilot Group commented:
