Pilot Group EMS, a leading supplier of advanced Energy Management Systems (EMS), has delivered significant savings for a Transport Company who have a number of UK locations including their depots.

As with all Pilot Group installations, the process started with a discovery session followed by a site survey to fully understand the equipment on site, business operations, the energy plans/goals the company has and more. With two of the sites previously having V16s installed (a previous version of the Pilot Group EMS), it meant savings had already been proven and the newer system was only going to exceed these.

The optimise on and optimise off features allow the system to maximise efficiency of heating systems in industrial sheds, ensure they come on so that the target temperature is reached for the start of the shift rather than the heating being on for a set time peiod before each shift. This feature also helps ramp down the temperature at the end of the day, reducing the unnecessary consumption.

The results have far exceeded the guarantee with the Transport Company, averaging a 43% reduction in gas heating energy consumption across the 9 sites in the year post installation.
